       We're here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, with the majority of our members residing in Pinellas County, but with many in Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Pasco, and Hernando Counties. Founded early in 1987, we have grown to a membership of nearly 600. We present jazz concerts, support a scholarship program, sponsor a local Dixieland jazz festival, have  great newsletter – JAZZ ME NEWS, and have lots of fun listening to music and dancing.                               ABOUT THE SOCIETY

      The Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Society is a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida to encourage performance, preservation and perpetuation of Dixieland Jazz music and to nurture the enhancement of this music as an American art form.  Activities of the Society include:

CONCERTS - Organizing and presenting jazz concerts and jazz related activities throughout the year.

NEWSLETTER - Providing a monthly publication to members concerning jazz activities and pertinent news regarding the society.

EDUCATION - Guiding the development, organization and presentation of Dixieland jazz activities in local schools and colleges and providing jazz scholarships to worthy young musicians.

JAZZ FESTIVAL - The SDJS is a major sponsor of the Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic. It is held annually in November at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and the Marriott Suites Clearwater Beach on Sand Key, Clearwater, FL.
